Keith Haring
Tagging in the subway taught him to be quick on his feet; so quick it boggles the mind! The photo to the left shows Keith standing in his New York "Pop Shop" witch he painted in only 15 minutes! I saw a video of do it once and it was amazing, it is totally improvisational. Keith Haring died of AIDS related complications at the age of 31 on February 16, 1990. The Pop Shop in New York stayed open untill September 2005.
When I talk about Keith no one has any idea who im talking about, but when they see his art they are like "I know that" hes the most famous artist you never knew. Heck, the man even painted the Berlin wall! Not to mention coined the term "Crack is Wack!"
Check out his website and support his ADIS foundation, www.haring.com, seriously!
Of all the people in the world I figured Adobe could do this right. All of the other colour pallet websites are so slow, and Adobe's attempt is no better. I have no idea how passing hex values for colors can take so dang long but what designer has the time to wait 10-20 seconds per page to browns color pallets.
Granted Adobe Kuler is an Adobe Labs project implying that its beta, but common if Adobe cant make Flex fast who can? I guess we will have to wait and see.
All that aside it is pretty cool. Check it out at http://kuler.adobe.com
Im not really a gamer, but I have to say this thing is addicting, and the fact that my wife actually like playing (she hates videogames) make not playing even harder. We play every night before bed and every morning before work.
It seems that everyone who comes over and picks up a controller is hooked. Nintendo is really on to something here, and Wii sports that comes with the console is actually pretty sweet. Its got tones of features and is so easy to use everyone wants to play.
With its instant popularity my wife and I are considering starting a Wii Sports league, lol. Don't worry there is a whole schwack of amazing web 2.0 sites that I will be writing about in the coming days.
It would make a great gift!
Oh yeah, here is a link to the item on Ebay ...
Colonel Sanders, wasn't the only thing that got re:designed ; the KFC.com website is looking pretty snazzy itself. The company said the new restaurants in the U.S. will include warmer interior colors, open shop-style glass windows and a digital jukebox that plays customer-selected music for free.
KFC feels the changes to its marketing strategy will help to keep the brand "Relevant" to consumers. In there effort to stay relevant they even staged a marketing campaign sporting a very obviously faked aerial photograph hiding a secret message.
In an effort to continuously bombard us with the same old thing the hidden message reads "Finger Lickn Good" if you go to www.kfc.com you can type it in and receive a free chicken sandwich. The funny thing is in there effort to make Colonel Sanders seem like just a regular dude, the giant KFC logo in the ariel photograph was said to be found in the Area 51 Desert.
Leading consumers to believe something out of this world put it there. DEspite is obvious flaws KFC's new logo and ad campaign must be effective. Im blogging it and, do you smell chicken?
I recorded my first podcast (using the Talkshoe network) and, I think I totally bombed. There was many time I fumbled words and lost my train of thought; resulting in dead airspace. I don't know what is with me today, I have never had a problem with public speaking.
Oh well my show 3.0 Ideas, is supposed to be a think tank for crazy ideas that just might work, and explore revolutionary concepts could change the internet as we know it. I really want to extend it to taking things we have learned form the web and applying them to older media such as tv, and print.
If you would like to listen to me crash and burn you can do so via iTunes aor direct download by vising my showes talkshoe profile page.
So, where does this leave my show, and my future in respect to podcasting? Well, although I crashed and burned. I am not one to give up easily. I am currently searching for a co-host, and entertaining different show ideas.
Let me know what you think of it.....
If for some reason you don't understand my over zealousness you should check out this episode of south park on you tube.
I don't usually watch south park but one of my co-workers was talking about its Wii'ness, and after the greatness of the World of Warcaft episode, I had to check it out.
