I stumbled upon a website today (that is currently in beta, like every site I use lol) that allows you to create and online scrapbook. scrapBlog*, is build on the flash platform and features an amazing and very intuitive flash based builder tool.
You can choose from tones of templates, and simply drag and drop your photos from your flickr, photo bucket, or iStockPhoto account. Or you can select a blank template and create whatever you want. There is a whole library of vector graphic elements (backgrounds, sticker, photo frames) to choose from and it really dose resemble a scrapbooking experiance.
The best thing about scrapBlog* is they took a very diffrent approch to the web2.0 movment. scrapBlog* from what I can tell is trying to focus more on content creation than becomming an online community itself. Allthought you do have a scrapBlog* address and you can use it as your blog; they allow you to embed you scrapBlog* into your mySpace profile, wordpress blog, or really anything that supports HTML.
I created a quick scrapBlog using some of my photos from Austin. You can check it out here: http://redletter.scrapblog.com/austin06/
I think scrapBlog* is a great example of where the flash platform can take us, and I know scrapBlog* has a good chance of... ...getting bought by yahoo lol...
